Diamonds ready for camp

Laura Geitz is part of the Diamonds 22-player squad
MISSION Queensland Firebirds Laura Geitz, Natalie Medhurst, Lauren Nourse and Amy Steel will head into camp at the Australian Institute of Sport today in the first steps of the Diamonds road to Delhi.
They will join 18 other players from the squad at the camp where Norma Plummer will keep a watchful eye over her Diamonds in the coming days with the coach to name a 15-player squad after the camp.
The Diamonds squad of 15 will be announced 12 noon Monday July 26.
This squad of 15 will tour together throughout the Holden Netball Test Series in Australia and the New World International Series in New Zealand. Teams of 12 will be selected from this squad of 15 throughout the Series’.
The squad of 15 will also form the 12-player team to travel to Delhi for the Commonwealth Games in October.
Tickets are still available for the Holden Test Series. The Gold Coast will host the final Diamonds vs Sunshine Girls game, which is sure to be a thriller.
If Laura Geitz makes the team, she may very well be up against her team mate Romelda Aiken who is part of Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls.
