CLARE McMeniman won’t be lacing up her Asics for a netball game on September 12, but for charity.
As an Ambassador for MontroseAccess Clare is taking part in their inaugural Walk With Me event.
Clare along with clients, supporters, staff and neighbours of MontroseAccess will be walking around the streets of Corinda to raise awareness and fundraise for their in-home and out-of-home respite services.
MontroseAccess was established in 1933 and provides respite and therapy services to hundreds of Queensland children and young adults with physical disabilities.
The idea behind Walk With Me came from MontroseAccess national affiliate, Ability First Australia (AFA) who represent disability service providers throughout Australia and every state around the nation will be holding a Walk With Me Event in 2010.
Walk With Me kicks off at 9am, September 12 and is followed by a family fun day at MontroseAccess, Consort Street Corinda.
Clare said the event provided a great opportunity for people to support MontroseAccess either by taking part in the walk or by sponsoring an event ambassador.
The five event ambassadors, six-year-old Darcy, nine-year-old Georgia, 23-year-old Jodie, 19-year-old Tristram and four-year old Sophie can be sponsored by visiting www.montroseaccess.org.au
Walk With Me was officially launched on Friday, July 16
