WHEN Sarah Wall’s season ended due to an injury sustained in Round 11 of the ANZ Championships, the Mission Queensland Firebird was devastated.

But she was not the only one upset; legions of fans of the talented netballer were also devastated at the heart-breaking news their favourite netballer had received.

One group of young netballers from Lakers Netball Club in Forest Lake decided to send some messages of support to Wall in her hour of need.

Cards and tributes flowed to the Firebird who was so thankful for the support; she decided to surprise the young athletes when she returned to Queensland recently.

Sarah turned up at one of the Lakers training sessions recently for a bit of a Q&A and to say thank-you in person.

Kelly Weaver from Lakers Netball Club Forest Lake said the young netballers were ecstatic that Sarah came to say thank-you.

“Sarah was fantastic, the girls, coaches and parents were just wrapped in her visit,” she said.

“She was inspirational to our young players and we all think that she is a truly wonderful role model and all round good sport.

“She has fans for life with the Lakers Netball Club.”

Wall has successfully undergone a knee reconstruction and is working on her rehabilitation.
